The Fight continues!

Robin’s case has been put forward by our legal team to the CCRC (this is the Criminal Case Review Commission) in September 2024 and we still await their decision. Although we have been here before, in previous attempts we didn’t have the evidence to back up the finance faults with the case like we do now, thanks to the Horizon scandal.

As many of you will know from the press and media coverage, the Horizon scandal with the Postmasters left people in debt, losing family and friends from distrust with some ending up in prison and even taking their own life. For us, the scandal meant the accounts of the Post Office were used as evidence for motive. Missing money from the business accounts were said to be a motive, that Robin had done the crime to cover up the theft of Post Office ‘lost’ monies. We along with our legal team can now prove that this was and is not the case. It is not us ‘jumping on the bandwagon’ it is us using the evidence that the government have found through the Horizon investigation that clearly now questions the security of the trial of Robin and therefore the verdict.

The courts (please see the link below to the Channel 4 news article) have clearly said that any cases connected to the Horizon scandal need a complete review and investigation; therefore this surely means that Robin’s case needs a complete review and retrial? We have the support from Kevin Hollinrake MP and many Postmasters that have been affected, like Robin, by the scandal. Although none are saying he is not guilty, what they are saying is that it makes his trial unsafe/questionable and that is all we can ask for. We just want a retrial so our team can put forward all the incorrect shocking facts of this case and allow Robin to prove his innocence. At the end of the day, if the ‘system’ believes that the investigation of Robin’s ‘supposed’ crime and trial were correctly done, that it was honest, safe and thorough, then what have they got to lose? Surely anything we put forward would still end in the same verdict?
